New year new you? I say why change? I shan’t spout out the usual 'love the skin you’re in', but perhaps there is something in those old clichés. When i started university i was sent with the advice 'now remember this is a new start, you can be whoever you want'. To which i replied 'but why would i chose to be anyone else'? Shouldn't i be proud of who i am? More importantly shouldn't those who know me, want me to stay the same? Granted the advice was given lovingly, and was meant along the lines of 'don't be afraid to wear/say/do what you want' .. e.t.c. But ultimately by the time you're embarking on university haven't you established yourself? By now don't you behave how you chose?
2012 of course could be your year? But why weren't the others? Life is short. If you do happen to be one of those who would relish from the before mentioned advice then perhaps you need to look at who you are? If you aren't yourself then what are you waiting for? Use the excuse of a 'new year's resolution' and resolve yourself!
Of course i wouldn't advise selfishness, nor am i saying throw away your morals and beliefs. But those brief moments in life when you look back and wish that you had behaved differently. Perhaps kissed that boy/girl? Worn that dress you thought would be inappropriate? Said that thing to that person who truly would have deserved your words? The list goes on and i shan’t belittle your intelligence by continuing. Ipso facto you learn from your mistakes! If it was a mistake in the first place, then why are you still regretting what you didn't do? Embrace 2012 with open arms by making it the year you truly became yourself.

I have a feeling my new Hobbs chinos (snapped up in the January sales) will come in handy for 2012. You're right, it is important to be true to yourself, and, as history has told, your proclamation to the world is made all the more powerful when it is made in an outfit that you feel extraordinary in!
